An estimated 11 million cars are expected to hit the roads today as commuters and holidaymakers bid to make the most of the spring break weekend.

Even though we have four glorious days to enjoy, there’s a sting in the tail thanks to British Summer Time. We’ll all be losing an hour in bed this weekend as the clocks go forward on the last Sunday of March every year. So it’s more important than ever to make the most of this holiday season.

Let JLife offer some suggestions to while away the hours so you’ll barely even notice the lost time. Just make sure you set every clock to change on Sunday night, we wouldn’t want you to be late for work on Tuesday now, would we….
Little Mix

There’s still a few tickets available for Little Mix’s Get Weird tour which arrives at the leeds direct arena this Saturday. The first band to win The X-Factor and hailed as ‘the biggest girl band in pop’, these little mixers are pocket-sized fire crackers. Playing hits such as ‘Salute’, ‘Love Me Like You’ and ‘Wings’, it’s sure to be the hottest night in town.



a-ha, Norway’s biggest export (apart from oil), are returning to Manchester for the first time in six years. After a brief hiatus in the 1990s, the trio haven’t stopped since, building on the fame and recognition of their first international hit ‘Take on Me’. Expect the classics and new material at the Manchester arena this Friday.


Roxy Juniors

Roxy Lanes, Leeds premier city-centre bowling alley is usually best known for competitive nights out, but over this weekend, it will be transforming itself into Roxy Juniors. Strike it lucky with the kids and strap on your bowling shoes for a fiver a game. Plus, if you’re in a group of six more, you can play a game, munch on pizza and slurp a soft drink for only £10 per person.


Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Predicted to be one of the most successful films of year, fanboys and fangirls alike will be lining up this weekend to see the heroic fight between two of the most recognisable comic book characters in Batman v Superman. Tonight, AMC Cinemas is hosting a midnight screening in conjunction with burger joint, Almost Famous. Choose from the tasty Batman burger or the humungous Superman burger. Whatever the result of the film, it will take all your superpowers to get through these epic meals!


Temple Newsam

Spring time means its lambing season for farms and estates across the country. Temple Newsam will be inviting families and young children to Lambs Loose in the House, a treasure trail across the country house to search for spring lambs and to learn about the joys of farming life. And of course they’ll be plenty of chocolate-y treats along the way! Starting this Saturday, it continues until 17th April.


The Manchester Duck Race

Returning for the seventh year this Friday, the Manchester Duck Race at Spinningfields is a wacky day of family fun. Culminating in the outrageous rubber duck race down the River Irwell, the activities begin at 11am with craft workshops, an urban petting zoo, fairground rides and street food from some of Manchester’s favourite street food traders. With lots of great prizes up for grabs in the final race, it costs only £1 to place your family’s duck onto the starting line. May the best ducky win!
