Get Out and About

If you want to entice your kids away from the sofa this half-term (16th-26th February), there are plenty of fun-filled and energetic activities to keep them entertained.

Let them ‘chill’ with a difference at Chill Factore – a premier snow attraction and home to the UK’s longest indoor real snow slope. If your kids are yet to take to the slopes, encourage them to learn a new skill with the venue’s Guarantee to Ski or Guarantee to Snowboard courses. As the title suggests, Chill Factore guarantees that beginners will be lower main slope ready in just six hours. If your child isn’t deemed ready by the instructor after that time, they will receive additional tuition free of charge. Prices start from £120.

Skate 2
Whether your child is new to skating or has some experience, they will love Projekts MCR’s quality ramp spaces. Based at the skatepark under the Mancunian Way flyover, its half-term skatepark club provides a daily dedicated three-hour coaching session for mixed ages and abilities, Monday to Friday. All equipment is provided including safety pads or you can bring your own. Each session is £9 if booked in advance, £12 on the day and £6 for siblings.

Climb 2
Choose from a selection of activities at Rock Over Climbing this half term, including a full Adventure Week for £100 covering climbing, orienteering, ninja warrior skills and outdoor bush craft, with individual days available for £25. There’s also Family Adventure sessions, which take place each hour with groups of up to eight people taking part in the Adventure Zone and bouldering for £8 per person. All sessions must be booked in advance.

Oxygen Freejumping offers trampolining fun for the entire family. Its Manchester branch has approximately 150 interconnected trampolines and multiple zones, including battle beams and dodgeball and basketball courts. There’s even an obstacle course designed by Bear Grylls to test willpower and physical prowess – although it’s not for the faint hearted! A great way to keep active and have lots of fun in the process.

Manchester’s Jump Nation Trampoline Park is home to the UK’s first inflatable theme park – Inflata Nation. It joins the best of inflatable activities into a huge indoor seamless arena so that both kids and adults alike can bounce to their hearts’ content. During half-term, it will extend the opening hours from 9am until 9pm, giving you ample opportunity to make the most of the huge mix of activities on offer.
