Sinai Expands Rabbinic Team
Rabbi Esther Hugenholtz has been appointed as assistant Rabbi at Sinai Synagogue and her induction will take place on 15th December.
Rabbi Esther Hugenholtz, Sinai Synagogue Leeds’ student rabbi for the past two years has been appointed as assistant Rabbi. She will join Rabbi Ian Morris, who has been Sinai’s sole rabbi for over 17 years, from 1st December this year.
Rabbi Hugenholtz, originally from Holland, has recently moved to Leeds with her husband, Dave Middleton, and baby son, Jonathan.
"We are delighted that Rabbi Hugenholtz will become part of our expanding rabbinic team," said Nick Dyson, chair of Sinai. "She is already well known to many congregants through her role with us as a student rabbi and we are confident she will help inspire our next generation."
Rabbi Hugenholtz said: "I am very excited about my new role as assistant Rabbi. I look forward to continuing to build a strong relationship with both the Sinai community and the wider Jewish community. It is wonderful to be part of Sinai’s future, as I begin my duties just as Sinai approaches a full year celebrating 70 years since its foundation."
