The Art of Friendship

12th February

The Friendship Circle is celebrating the theme of inclusivity through diversity in its free exhibition at the Hilton Suite, featuring artwork created by members of the Prestwich charity, seeking to integrate Jewish children and adults with disabilities into the wider community. Mark Adlestone OBE, High Sheriff of Greater is guest speaker and wine and refreshments will be provided.


Don’t Call Me Annie

26th January

On Holocaust Memorial Day, Menorah Synagogue presents Don’t Call Me Annie, a play which explores the pervasive effects of Shoah on younger generations. The performance is followed by a discussion with cast members and writer, Israel Academy of Music graduate Ruti Worrall. Tickets are free, but booking is essential.


Mendelssohn’s Elijah

2nd February

Manchester Grammar School boys, parents and staff come together with local professional and amateur players and singers to perform Mendelssohn’s Old Testament oratorio, depicting the life of the prophet Elijah in support of youth cancer charity CLIC Sargent. Tickets cost £13, concessions £10, under 18s £5.

31st January

Fresh from the UK Jewish Comedy Festival, Boston comic Alex Edelman heads to The Lowry Studio for the first stop on his UK tour. Founder of Jerusalem’s Off the Wall Comedy Club, Alex shares anecdotes of growing up in an Orthodox family, life as a millennial and meeting his antisemitic trolls. Tickets cost £14, concessions £12.
