Chapel Allerton Arts Festival
Chapel Allerton Arts Festival kicks off on Bank Holiday Monday, and it’s the perfect way to spend your day off.
The Arts Festival will bring a fun-packed week of events to Chapel Allerton, full of live music, family-friendly activities, market stalls and street food. Their Festival Bar will be serving up some of Leeds’ best local craft ales, as well as Pimms, wine and soft drinks.

Luna Kids Open Air Cinema
From Wednesday 21st – Sunday 25th August, the UK’s first open air cinema designed specifically for children will be showing classic family movies at Harewood House.

Leeds Carnival Parade
Leeds West Indian Carnival’s 2019 celebrations come to a close this Bank Holiday Monday, ending with the much-loved annual Carnival Parade.
The family-friendly parade begins at 2pm from Potternewton Park, overlooking the Carnival’s main stage. Expect decadent costumes, laced with feathers, rhinestones and glitter! The parade route will take participants around Roundhay Road and Chapeltown Road, before returning to Potternewton Park.
Potternewton Park will be jam-packed with entertainment, including live music, arts and crafts, and fun fair rides. If you get peckish, there’ll be delicious Caribbean food on offer too!

Leeds Beer Week
Leeds Beer Week is back, with a bigger line-up and more events and offers than ever before. The annual Beer Week kicks off on Friday 23rd August and finishes on Saturday 31st, with events running throughout the entire Bank Holiday Week.
The week’s events include special food offers, limited-edition beers, discounts and live music gigs. Some venues have designed special multi-course food tasting menus with beer pairings, including Arts Restaurant, Ox Club at Headrow House, and The Cardigan Arms.
Kirkgate Market is celebrating the week with a beer and tapas walk, offering guests four beers and a wide range of snacks as they discover the history of Europe’s largest indoor market.

Leeds Jurassic Trail
This summer, full-size dinosaurs have made their way to Leeds City Centre. Completely free of charge, the entire family can follow the Leeds Jurassic Trail to track them down!
Leeds Jurassic Trail takes visitors to Leeds through Victoria Leeds, Leeds Kirkgate Market, The Merrion Centre and Trinity Leeds. Leeds is also home to some roaming dinosaurs this summer – you might spot them in the Corn Exchange or St Johns Centre!
The Jurassic Trail is staying in Leeds until the 1st September, making it the perfect way to keep your kids entertained while you run some errands this long weekend!
