There is an abundance of festive fun in Leeds this month!

See the city sparkle and enjoy the dazzling displays of festive lights, hangout at the coolest pop-up retreats or indulge on some wholesome winter fodder. Whatever your background, JLife has the lowdown on the best festive hotspots nestled in the heart of the city that you can enjoy.

Festive Trail
Venture on a magical journey to discover a winter wonderland in the heart of the city until January 2019. Bringing a festive sparkle, the trail of picturesque art and light installations for all ages shines a light on some of the city’s most iconic buildings and showcases local creatives. Travellers can find the trail online to follow.

Cosy Up
The beloved Viking-inspired hideaway Thor’s Tipi has pitched up in the heart of the city at Victoria Gardens until 31st December 2018. Take cover from the descending winter chill and indulge on a festive favourite while finding warmth by the log burning fire. The little ones are also welcome, with a scrumptious hot chocolate station available and tasty treats.

It’s Behind You
It’s pantomime month (oh yes it is)! The Village Hotel Leeds North is bringing the British pastime to your delight, featuring timeless classics for all the family. Relive the spellbinding production of Sleeping Beauty or witness the classic rags-to-riches tale as Cinderella loses the iconic glass slipper. Indulge on two courses of festive grub, meet the man in red and fill up on fun for just £20 per adult, £10 per child and under twos go free.

Don your woolly hat and dust off your mulled wine mug before heading over to Millennium Square for Leeds’ infamous Christkindelmarkt, decked out in full seasonal splendour. Enjoy a leisurely stroll around and soak up the festive atmosphere, sample an array of delicious food, take a ride on the carousel or browse the carefully crafted Yuletide gifts.

The market is home to over 40 traditional wooden chalets and beautifully festooned stalls all in walking distance of each other and open until 22nd December.
