With television firmly on our minds after this week’s 2015 National Television Awards, JLife takes a look at a few of the programmes with Jewish ties that hit our screens in recent years.

Jewish Mum of the Year

Channel 4’s reality show centred on eight women from across the spectrum of Jewish observance competing in a variety of tasks, such as organising a Bar Mitzvah. Have you checked out our interview with Sandi Firth, winner of the four-part series?

Friday Night Dinner

In the Channel 4 sitcom, the Goodmans, a Jewish family in London, indulge in humorous exchanges as they gather every Friday evening for their ritual meal. One of the sons – Adam – is played by Simon Bird, widely recognised for his main role in the hugely acclaimed The Inbetweeners.

Strictly Kosher

ITV1’s primetime documentary centred on the Manchester Jewish community, particularly focusing on colourful characters and giving a unique insight into their lives.
