Alison set up AHA Interiors in 2018 after turning her upholstery hobby into a new career. Alison studied both traditional and modern upholstery at The Ministry of Upholstery in Manchester.
Based in North Leeds with a fully functioning workshop, all projects both small and large are lovingly restored and brought up to date in look, feel and to current fire safety standards.
Reupholstery.
Do you have an armchair or sofa that is in need of an overall? It may be an old inherited piece of furniture that is sagging and a bit battered or something more current that the cat has destroyed the arm of! Don’t throw it away, have it reupholstered. Alison will strip the piece down to the bare frame and using either traditional or modern techniques, rebuild with new fire retardant materials before finishing in a fabulous new fabric.
From New.
Chairs, sofas and footstools can all be made to order from new solid wood frames. The frame makers are local and are happy to make bespoke items. All materials are fire retardant and I can help you find the perfect fabric.
Testimonies.
“It’s great, in our ‘throwaway’ society, to be able to give something old and loved, but a bit world weary, a new lease of life. That’s exactly what Alison did with my 50 year old much loved chair. The photographs she took during the process show its rebuilding from the basic frame, back to a beautiful, upholstered armchair. It looks great and it is extremely comfortable!
The workmanship is fantastic, and the result is fabulous. Alison was great to work with – I felt she really listened to what I wanted, had useful suggestions for sourcing fabric (she has a beautiful range of samples), was really clear on pricing, and kept in touch throughout. I felt that my chair was in safe and expert hands, I’d thoroughly recommend her, and am planning my next project. Thank you Alison!”
