Celebrating the recent opening of Celia’s Kitchen, kosher deli, 20 lucky JLIfe readers will be at a special live cookery demo from Celia herself!
When the global pandemic set in, Celia Clyne’s family catering business virtually ground to a halt overnight after over 25 years. Not ones to stand still, the family has opened a new kosher delicatessen in the former JS Restaurant premises in Kings Road, Prestwich, under the eye of director, Mark Clyne.
Mark told JLife: “It’s been my lifelong dream to open a deli-style shop, and the effects of COVID literally pushed the idea to the forefront, and Celia’s Kitchen was born. I’m incredibly excited!”
The emphasis is on fresh food, and feature up to 50 selections of hot dishes, ready meals, soups, sandwiches, and salads. Specials include Chinese style dishes, Friday night favourites and shawarma plus dedicated fresh fish and dessert counters. The Once in a Lifetime burger has already built a strong following: “These are definitely the best kosher burgers you’ll ever taste,” he suggests. “Everything we make has the Celia Clyne catering quality and style, known throughout the UK.”
A takeaway area is attached and, once restrictions have been lifted, seating upstairs in The Loft for events and parties of up to 70 people and a social area for those who want to eat in will be created, including for younger people on Saturday night.
Currently local deliveries can be ordered through Uber Eats, and for South Manchester and Leeds clients there will be weekly deliveries soon, customers can download a new app on Google play or Apple store to use to order and simply heat up their chosen scrumptious cuisine.
Mark added: “We can now serve the amazing high quality food people expect from Celia to your doorsteps and have it all available in our deli too. And when the events business picks up once again, it will be busier than ever!”
The shop is open at 7 to 9 Kings Road Prestwich M25 0EG and you can follow Celia’s Kitchen on facebook, Insta or see some great recipes at Celiaskitchenrecipes.wixsite.com.
